The Valley Hustler was made with Range, and it's certainly the kind of beer the Brisbane brewers have a real penchant for with the double Cali IPA sits at 8.0 percent and features IPA Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, El Dorado, and Eclipse.
Read More...IPA feels like a style that'll never slow down. In such a world, it can be good to turn back time a little and go back to the classics. A West Coast IPA built with the Three Cs of Centennial, Cascade, and Columbus.
Read More...The beer clearly carries the traits of a classic Czech pilsner: there's plenty of pepper, distinct but not rough; a fresh bitterness hits like a bracing wind; and a hearty breadiness that starts strong, fades off for a while and takes the bitterness with it, then comes back as a crescendo. But woven throughout all of this is the evidence of the dry-hopping with Czech Saaz and Aussie Vic Secret: a firm earthiness, a crisp lime character ringing from start to finish, and a hint of pineapple.

Read More...Pouring mid-amber with a slight haze, it opens with aromas of peach, orange, mandarin and nice baked pie crust. Hopped with Mosaic, Citra and NZ newcomer Hort4337, it delivers layers of citrus not unlike orange bitters. All the punchy fruit flavours are balanced by a thick, juicy mouthfeel.

What sets this pilsner apart from the crowd is its dank, slightly skunky character, which brings surprising depth and a lingering, resinous finish. That complexity comes courtesy of Pineapple Express terpenes; they infuse the beer with tropical and citrus zest alongside a piney kick that perfectly complements those bold West Coast hops.

Read More...Another day, another IPA from Straddie Brewing that's named after a shipwreck. Despite its historical name, Prosperity Cali IPA uses very modern hops - Elani, Luminosa and Mosaic SPECTRUM - and, like the two masts of a brigantine,* they bring two pillars to stand tall on its deck.
Read More...It's still bright but is heavy on resinous hops too, oozing with stone fruits and an insatiable, sticky bitter profile, thanks to a stack of American hops including Idaho 7, Lemondrop and Simcoe, plus a little NZ Motueka and advanced hop products Amplifire and Simcoe Dynaboost.
Read More...Porpoise Patrol, a hazy IPA that looks like a tropical smoothie and drinks just as juicy. Pale malt, flaked wheat and oats feature alongside hop heavyweights Motueka, Nectaron, and Superdelic, creating a full-flavoured brew with touch of resin and subtle bitterness.
Read More...As a style, hemp IPA isn't quite as historical as saison, but Leafy Greens has other things going for it. On the hops side, it boasts an ultra modern line-up - Strata CGX, Mosaic Lupomax, Eclipse, Nelson Sauvin Hop Kief - and then there's the additions of King Louis XIII & Gelato terpenes and hemp seed.
Read More...It's a beer from which a portion of proceeds goes to Seabin, who remove plastics from Sydney Harbour, and which pours as pale and as clear as you'd expect. The recipe features jasmine rice plus Saphir and Saaz hops, the latter of which contribute light citrus and a hint of straw alongside some gentle floral aromas.
Read More...From the Med to the Antipodes in one beer and you have Easy As, an NZ pilsner that, in terms of colour, heads towards clear copper territory. Distinctive Kiwi hops (Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka) lean more into the attributes found in newer NZ varieties - rounder and fuller - so presumably Nectaron is pulling its weight. The solitary ale, takes its Fool's Gold name from the Simpsons' Golden Promise malt at its centre. It delivers on the name appearance-wise, while crisp, grainy aromas and flavours dominate, complete with a little honey as if drizzled onto cereal.
Read More...Made with malts from the Mediterranean, the beer was given plenty of time to lager away, while the hops - Loral, Saaz, Ekuanot, and Motueka - were added at various stages during the fermentation. The beautifully clear beer brings bready, dry biscuit flavours, while the hops are a mix of floral and stone fruit with a melon character that's so fruity it could just as easily stem from a stick of bubblegum over a farm.
Read More...Incoming head brewer Robbie Sutton's NZ hop affections pair Nelson Sauvin with an undisclosed Bract Programme hop, plus US Citra. The trio's dense tropical cocktail mist encompasses pineapple, tinned peach, candied citrus and a low rolling verdant swell.
Read More...Head brewer Jake Harris is moving on from Helios, and this beer his last hurrah - or one of them, at least - so he's gone and loaded it up with all the hops in New Zealand and enough oats to feed a herd of horses. With Motueka, Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka SubZero Hop Kief, this beer tastes like every single fruit you can think of (not counting tomato and cucumber and those other vegetable-y ones).
Read More...Hera, the hazy pale, is certainly a welcome way to enjoy hops, with the brewery utilising four distinct varieties that are all named after powerful women; Ariana, Ella, Lorien and Elani. Put simply, so intense are those flavours and so smooth and fulsome is the beer's mouthfeel that it feels a little hard to believe it's only 5.0 percent ABV.

How could you expect it to remain unchanged? This is how you can come to drink a beer that's dripping with New Zealand hops Nectaron and Superdelic and tastes of fresh summer punch...
Read More...Though different in its approach, credit where credit is due: this seemingly odd combination works surprisingly well. While watermelon flavour isn't dominant to taste with a moderate fresh watermelon juice impression, the glass billows with ripe watermelon aroma - in part due to the considered addition of Watermelon Skyfarm terpenes.
